A general question and a very common, expected and true answer -

Poor rendering of emails and newsletter strongly negatively effects the customer experience and increases complaints.  Depending how sloppy the code is (many missing closing tags, common, uncommon html errors etc) it can cause severe delivery issues and reputation damage.  Since most companies put significant time into making sure that their templates and content are properly formatted and most spammers send out emails put together quickly which are poorly formatted, it causes significant content-based hits to the reputation at nearly every ISP.

From now on, if you tend to ignore those thin white lines appearing in the email, or some junk characters appearing in the subject line of your newsletter, you should not overlook it. It's for you and all-
